Save Scunthorpe

Miscellaneous

Save Scunthorpe...From time to time you think to yourself "Why do they continue to demolish every building and area in sight" Construction is happening everywhere but is making many towns untidy and such an eye sore. Greenland and ponds are scrapped to pave way for more construction. We agree we need more houses so why not use the brown land available. Scunthorpe has more shopping centres been built out of town, which then the shops in the town centre relocate within the new development site out of town, this however has a massive impact on the remaining shops in town resulting in less shoppers and more shops closing down.

27-year-old Leisure Centre before been demolished
Getting Demolished Sep 2011

This area used to be full of ramps and other obstacles and was actually made for kids and younger adults to use their skate boards and skates.
As you can see it is yet another local feature that has been ripped out, it's turned into a small car park.
Even if massive amounts of people didnt use the facilitie, at least it looked good for visitors and shows that we do have facilities available for the public to use.

Carlton Street Multi-Storey Car Park

Multi-Storey Car Park

After a full structural inspection on this multi-storey car park it was announced that it had structural damage and was unsafe until repaired. Instead of repairing the structure, the council have decided to demolish yet another building within our degrading town.

A Place For The Whole Family
Save Our Pandarama / Foundry Arms

SAVE OUR.... Pandarama - Foundry Arms  (Scunthorpe)

This place is fantastic for the whole family and caters for all. Play zone with soft play area for ages 0 to 12 years. All round family entertainment, food and drink available in the bistro area, pool table, sky TV on multiple TV's. Sensory and function rooms available for private hire for birthday parties, meetings, school bookings etc.
This building is in a great location, ideal for parking and very close to the bus station for families that don't drive.

This place is at risk of being demolished due to the Carlton Street Multi -Story Car Park been demolished situated next to it, now it's in the council's hands in regards to Pandarama either staying or going!!

We should all support children's facilities and play area's, this also includes local councils and governments. These great well used places give hours of fun to young children are becoming quite rare. These facilities mean a lot to you & your children and the next generation. It's also a big learning curve for our children and a boost for the local communities.
